What is the purpose of junk journal? What can they be used for? You know, you are not the first to ask this question. From time to time people write to me asking – they are so beautiful but what can I use them for?
Honestly, I do not know myself ! It’s all in your dreams. It’s all in your hands.
In some of them you want to write current affairs and plans, in others – dreams and feelings, in others – to write a song. In some of them you want to write down travel impressions and add photos from the trip, memorable little things. Finally, you can write your own novel.
And in gothic and witchcraft – even your spells and rituals, the meanings of tarot cards.
Let’s move on to practice.
Add nice little things to your junk journal, small photos (they are so cute in little size), write your favorite phrases, lines from a poem, things that happen to you magically today, a to-do list, draw something simple on the page, add some tickets, a label from the sweetest you ate today, a piece of paper tape, a leaf from your garden (soon it will dry among the papers and give them special charm and flavor), you can even leave a print from a coffee mug – it will make your page you fill out today special. Even if it seems silly to you at first, but after a while everything can change. More different little things in your notebook – it’s more interesting to look at it after a while.
Organize your own little secret – a pocket, an envelope that’s not easy to find. And have some silly thing written in it. But it’s your stupidity. And no one can see it. You can do whatever you want in your notebook. Anything that inspires you today.
Write down a successful recipe. Let it be forgotten as early as tomorrow. All the more interesting. A month from now, you’ll revisit your journal and be surprised at what a great recipe you found. You might want to repeat it.
Be sure to take it with you on your trip. Write something down in it while you’re waiting in line, sitting in the garden, drinking coffee in a coffee shop. It will be a note from the flavors of those wonderful days.
So, what is the purpose of junk journal? Your junk journal is your field of imagination, and it’s your imagination what to use it for.
